4- The World of Work

Posted: February 16, 2012 in Uncategorized

We’ve recently started a new unit in our English class : The world of work. During our first two lessons, students commented on some cartoons and images and they also watched “Modern Times” with Charlie Chaplin.

Here’s an article from the New York Times which is related to our main topic (check: www.nytimes.com). It’s interesting and updated and it tell us about how young people in London have been struggling so hard to find a job. You can also watch the video at the end of the article.

Keep in mind:  Reading newspaper articles like these, whether online or on paper, is a wonderful way to improve your language store and keep you in touch with everyday language, the way it is spoken by its native community. The benefits are countless. Enjoy!

P.S. If you read the article, please let me know. Write a brief comment on the baloon on the top of the post. One/two sentences will be enough. Say if you enjoyed or not and say what you think about the topic.

THE NEW YORK TIMES – 15th February 2012
